Join us in making the voice of rare diseases heard!

We are excited to announce the 3rd annual Rare Disease Day Houston event to be held at The Health Museum, 1515 Hermann Drive, Houston, TX 77004 on Sat. February 24, 2018 from 9AM – 1PM This event is sponsored by the Molecular and Human Genetics Department at Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children’s Hospital in collaboration with the National Organization for Rare Disorders and in partnership with The Health Museum.

We anticipate over 35 booths representing rare disease organizations.  We are making a major push to invite health professionals, medical, genetic counseling, nursing students and volunteers will include medical, graduate students and high school students.  The Health Museum exhibitions will be open to all of our participants.

Schedule:

9:30AM- 11:30AM    Ask the Expert, we are inviting physician experts in areas of genetics, cardiology, ophthalmology, gastrointestinal, dermatology to be available to meet for 5 minutes/family to provide general information.

10:30 AM  Maria Town,  the new Director for the Mayor’s Office for Persons with Disabilities to speak.

11:00AM- 1:00PM   Photo Booth with fun props for families and organizations to take group photos.
