Brandon is an incredibly sweet, creative and fun-loving 12 year old boy. He was diagnosed with mitochondrial disease at age 3 ½, following years of health challenges. His heroes are servicemen and women and our country’s leaders. He has run a lemonade stand since age 4 with proceeds going towards care packages he sends to soldiers stationed overseas. He loves running into them on the street and thanking them for their service. This past year, he has been gathering signatures for a petition to mark off at least a section of the D Day beaches in Normandy to commemorate the sacrifice of our soldiers and where appropriate decorum would be observed.
The last few years have taken a toll as his symptoms have worsened. Despite feeling terrible, Brandon continues to face each day with a smile and vigor. He absolutely never complains and continues to show concern for others.
We feel a tremendous sense of urgency to find a better treatment. Brandon continues to be a fighter and is our hero.
