UNITED WAY DONORS
You can also donate through the United Way, by designating the UMDF as your recipient for United Way funds. Call your local United Way office to find out if there is a DONOR CHOICE program in your area. If there is not a DONOR CHOICE program in your area, you cannot donate to UMDF through the United Way. Please remember that all donations given to the UMDF through the United Way will have an administration fee taken out by the United Way, so only a portion of your donation will be forwarded to the UMDF. We have received funds from a variety of communities through the Donor Choice program and appreciate being included in this effort. A list of United Way Agencies that have DONOR CHOICE is available here.
Pledges will be acknowledged according to the instructions on your pledge form. If your agency is not listed, simply complete the appropriate form (provided by your employer or local United Way) with the following information:

OTHER WORKPLACE GIVING
In addition to giving to the United Way, CHC and CFC, many businesses have philanthropic foundations or have programs that match gifts or volunteer hours. Inquiring about those programs not only supports UMDF financially, but also raises much needed awareness about mitochondrial disease.
Please let us know if your employer has a charitable program or awards grants to worthy causes. We can follow up on the opportunity or, if you prefer to make the request yourself, we can provide the information and materials you need. Information provided would include letters, brochures and financial information.
