USE OF THE UMDF LOGO AND WORD MARK REQUIRES APPROVAL FROM THE UMDF NATIONAL OFFICE.
Chapters, groups, ambassadors and any individual fundraising on behalf of the UMDF and using the UMDF logo on brochures, t-shirts, flyer's, pamphlets, save a date cards, invitations, or any printed or broadcasted information must have prior permission from the UMDF National Office before those materials are printed or aired. This is required to insure brand integrity and adherence of copyright.
Please submit your artwork for approval to the UMDF Communications Office before you send anything to be printed or published for approval. If the file is under 2MG, you can email it to cliff@umdf.org . If your artwork is larger than 2MG, please click on this link to upload and send your file.

UPLOADING PHOTOS OR VIDEO
The UMDF encourages members to send in photos and videos. Photo and video's can be emailed to alison.cooley@umdf.org if the file is 2 megabytes or less. If the Photo or Video is over 2 megabytes and less than 2 gigabytes, it can be sent to the UMDF through this link. VIDEO OF PERSONAL STORIES CANNOT BE MORE THAN 3 MINUTES IN LENGTH.
PHOTO AND VIDEO RELEASE FORM
The UMDF welcomes photos/videos for use in our publications, advertising and website. Prior to publication, the UMDF requires that all participants in a photo or video sign a Photo and Video Release form. You can download the form below. All participants must have their own, individual form. They must sign the form. If a person appearing in a photo or video is under the age of 18, a parent or legal guardian may fill out and sign the form for them. No photos or videos can be used without a filled out Photo/Video Release Form.

In the course of writing a news release, brochure, flyer or other written or broadcast information, UMDF requires the following 'boilerplate' language for inclusion in your text. This is required so that we are speaking with the same message across the nation. You may copy and paste this text into your document.
ABOUT MITOCHONDRIAL DISEASE
Every 30 minutes, a child is born who will develop a mitochondrial disease by age 10, although the actual number of children born with the disease is thought to be much higher. More and more adults are being diagnosed with a mitochondrial disease. Recent research indicates that one in 200 people harbor a genetic mutation that can lead to mitochondrial disease in them or their offspring. Most patients suffer symptoms for years before they are accurately diagnosed with a mitochondrial disease. Mitochondrial diseases result from the failure of the mitochondria, which is located in the cells of our bodies. Mitochondria are responsible for creating more than 90% of the energy needed to sustain life and support growth. When mitochondria fail, less energy is produced causing cell injury or cell death. On a larger scale, organ systems begin to fail. The disease is often debilitating. In some cases, it may result in death. Adult onset is becoming more and more common. There is no cure for mitochondrial disease.
