A fundraising challenge for a cure for mitochondrial disease
Leigh Syndrome is the most common pediatric presentation of mitochondrial disease.
The international mitochondrial disease community is now collaborating on an exciting multi-year project to advance the diagnosis, therapeutic treatment and clinical care of Leigh Syndrome patients.
Working together, a consortium of patient groups based in USA (UMDF), Italy (Mitocon) and Australia (Mito Foundation), who are all committing financial resources to the initiative, will direct the “Leigh Syndrome Roadmap Project”.
Maria Beatrice Benvenuti, the International Rugby referee, wants to play her game with this special team, to raise fund for this extraordinary project.
