Community Impact

We are incredibly excited to launch UMDF’s first ever Community Impact Report.

Creating this report has afforded all of us the opportunity to take a look back at some of the courageous stories of our patient families and the unwavering commitment of our scientific and medical community. Each member of our community has their own unique journey with mitochondrial disease.

In these pages, you can learn about our courageous patient families who, despite their daily struggles, offer others education and support. We share the story of how one clinician changed his focus to mitochondrial medicine after he was inspired by patients at our annual Mitochondrial Medicine meeting. And, you can see firsthand the impact generous donors like you have made on our ability to move faster towards effective treatments.

Because of you, UMDF remains poised to be the leader in support, education, research and advocacy, and we are grateful to have you along for this journey to a cure for mitochondrial disease.
