Sponsor UMDF Symposium 2020

Join UMDF at Mitochondrial Medicine 2020: Phoenix, AZ

Wednesday, June 24 – Saturday, June 27, 2020

Mitochondrial Medicine brings together the best minds in mitochondrial medicine and research, with programming designed to engage and inspire the next generation of researchers and provide patient family education. It is at these internationally recognized meetings that the latest information in the field of mitochondrial medicine, potential treatments and therapies and cutting edge research is presented. Our symposium is unique in the fact that we bring scientific, industry and patient communities together. The experience is quite life-changing for patients and researchers. Researchers are inspired and motivated to work faster after meeting patient families because their symposium experience has added the real human element and meaning to their daily efforts.

Your sponsorship helps maintain low registration fees for our families and supports out scholarship fund for families needing assistance.

Minovia started as an idea, to use mitochondria for therapy. Many of the common diseases could benefit from MAT and we struggled to choose our first indication. When I attended my first UMDF meeting in 2012 it was clear for me: meeting the patients, the physicians and seeing the real unmet need drove us to focus our development plan on mitochondrial diseases. Minovia is dedicated to develop a transformative therapy for primary mitochondrial diseases and the UMDF is the perfect partner: through research, regulatory and clinical support, and with the mutual sense of urgency, the UMDF help us minimize risks and holdbacks which are unavoidable for a biotech company. This will ensure accelerating the development of MAT as fast as responsible.

Natalie Yivgi Ohana, PhD, Minovia Therapeutics Ltd

This is the meeting that changed all meetings from an industry perspective. They partner with thought leaders, industry, and patients to bring them all together for a fantastic experience. The doctors who attend this meeting are cut from a different cloth. They put their hearts and souls into this endeavor as much as the patients and the UMDF itself! IF you do not have a presence at the UMDF Symposium, and you are a company that deals with mitochondrial or metabolic disorders, you are missing out.

David Keane, GeneDx

The people who work for the UMDF do it for the right reasons, THE PATIENTS. Every employee I have met has a huge heart and hunger to help others. They know firsthand, what it is like to take care of someone with a mitochondrial disease or know someone with one. We need industry and businesses to step-up, join in and spread the word about mitochondrial diseases. At the Annual Meeting last year, a lovely woman in a wheel chair, with a severe mitochondrial disease, came to our educational display table, introduced herself and asked us if there was anything WE needed? She and all of the patients are why we do what we do everyday and we clearly need your help. There are so many diseases and not enough scientific work is being done on them. Please join us! This is an amazing organization and a tremendous opportunity to support the Patient Community and UMDF, in every way imaginable.
